TITLE:           "Short Sunflowers"

MEDIUM:       Watercolor on paper

SIZE:               9 x 12"

COMMENTS:  The deep shadows of these three foot high sunflowers I planted in front of the roof-height sunflowers fascinated me. The flower heads on thick stalks were tucked away in a dense "forest" of leaves.

Sometimes I paint a composition in different media or sizes before deciding to do a large painting. It can be time consuming, but I get involved in exploring a subject. I'm inserting a photo of the 20 x 24" oil on canvas of similar imagery.  Notice the differences between watercolors and oils.

 

The watercolor of "Short Sunflowers" comes to you unframed. It is shipped flat in a reinforced package.
